Ministry to the Maniq people in Patthalung, Southern Thailand

MVT is privileged to partner with Pastor Somchai in bringing the gospel and God’s love to this primitive nomadic MANIQ tribe in Thailand. Praise the Lord! Pastor Somchai and team are able to reach out to them on a regular basis. They are very contented with the foodstuffs and clothing that we blessed them with.
Residing in the Patthalung hills of southern Thailand, the Maniq comprise one of the last hunter–gatherer communities in the world. The total population of the Maniq is about 300 people.

Mae Hong Son, North-western Thailand

Praise God! MV Kuhl Mae Top was planted in January 2020 serving the Karen community up in the hills of Kuhl Mae Top. In the beginning Pastor LeuChai was just meeting regularly with a few families at different homes before taking on the role as shepherd. We praise God for the provision of land and the resources made available to build this church building for the Karen to fellowship together. There are now about 15 believers who meet regularly for Sunday services.

Besides pastoring in their churches, Pastor LeuChai and Pastor Sataporn of MV Mae Kong Pae Church often reach out to the Karen Myanmarese people at the border with food relief and clothing.  Despite the many dangers and hindrances, Pastor Sataporn and Pastor LeuChai trust the Lord to reach out to the refugees with supplies and materials for building shelters on a regular basis.

Nurturing and Reaching out to the Karen children and youth ..…

Prayer points to focus on for MV Kuhl Mae Top Church
and the Karen people:

1) The love and salvation of Jesus to touch the lives of the Karen community in Mae Kong Pae , Kuhl Mae Top and Poohsawang communities and at the border. Pray that the Karen people will come into a personal relationship with Jesus.

2) For the families and youth in community, that their cultural awareness may develop and florish with dignity, following the lead under God’s blessing and direction.

3) God’s protection upon Pastor Sataporn, Pastor LeuChai and their teams. They are continually exposed to the dangers of dengue and malaria as they have to go into the rivers and jungles  at the border. (Isaiah 43:15-19)

4) God’s provision upon all the ministries to the Karen Myanmarese at the border and the Lord’s protection upon them.  “The Lord will make the way new for the Karen community where no foot has gone before.”
